It's been entirely wiped basically. So we're back to this, my lifeboat. XD

I didn't really like #48 all that much, but these three are good.
One of them has a great ending, due to something Darke says.

Small ReBorn Report

Thought I'd update this. The game is now at 60% standard completion. This means that not counting any extra stuff I may have planned, it's 60% done.

If you somehow don't understand that, you won't want to play the game when it's done.

I've been without internet for almost two weeks.
On the status of things both ReBorn and not, I didn't do much.
I was busy with other things. Such as Life.
What a damnable time waster that can be.

I've started work on the full game. The first thing I did was remove the demo's ending.
My apologies to Lina. XD

People who've beaten the demo will understand my apology.

Anyways, when taking a break from working on the game, I had gone to EF.
One of the users there had notified me of a bug in the demo. It was a pretty major bug. XC
I fixed it in a few minutes though. :D
I then decided to go bug hunting through the rest of the demo.
Finding a few bugs, I soon fixed them.
However, I will not be uploading the bug-free version of the demo.
This is due to what I said about the ending.

So, I'll tell you about the major bug, as it's gamebreaking. XD
Whatever you do in the demo, do not enter the cave on the other side of the rickety bridge.
On your way back out again, you'll have 0 HP, and die as soon as you use an item or spell.
You never have to enter this cave in the demo, and you can't do what's needed to be done in there anyways.

The other bugs were minor, and you may not even notice them.
So I won't mention them.

Anyways, in the full game, the Fire Room's events are now complete.
Progress has slowed a bit, as the game needs more complex events now.

ReBorn Progress Report

So, I was without internet for a couple of days. Again.
As a result, I got lot of work done in Shadowgate ReBorn.

The entire game is mapped out now. This means that walls, doors, objects, etc. etc. are all placed.
Most of them do nothing due to not having any events set.

Now then, I've fully completed events for all of the rooms that you can get to without entering the EPOR Room, the Room of Mirrors, or the lake with the skeleton in it.

I'm playtesting it as well, to make sure that the events work.
I'm also doing a second run through the original game so I can properly set the events.

Next, I'll address some changes I've made.
For one, I'm leaving the torch system until last. Then I can make two copies of the game. One that uses it, and one that does not. This assumes I can implement a torch system of course. Torches will still have other uses regardless.

Secondly, the suicides via your own weapons (Sword, Spear, Hammer, etc.) have been removed. This is simply because RPG Maker VX won't let me use a weapon as an item. I've thought of a couple ways to get around this that I haven't tried yet, so hopefully it won't be a permanent removal.

Lastly, there's a few script changes, and object changes. Don't worry, nothing major.
I do plan to add a secret area that wasn't in the original game though.

I guess that's it. When next I work on it, I'll be starting on the EPOR Room.

A New Project

So I've undertaken a new project. This project is to better familiarize myself with RPG Maker VX. So I'm making a game. Woo.

Well, re-making actually.
I'm planning on remaking a NES gem called Shadowgate.

I'm calling it Shadowgate ReBorn, in lieu of the recent Gradius ReBirth game that Wii gamers received as a WiiWare title. It'll basically be the same (With a few changes or subtle references here and there. :P) as the original, but instead of first person, it's third person.

To go on, I've actually already started. Here's my progress so far:

Title Screen, complete with a remix of Shadowgate's title theme.
Game Over Screen, complete with a remix of Shadowgate's death theme.
Outside the castle, complete with events, weather events, and a remix of the main Shadowgate theme.

That's all in terms of fully complete. From there, I decided that I will go and create each and every room first. Then I'll add the events, music, text, etc.

My progress there is as follows:

Entrance Hall where Lakmir taunts you.
Closet that contains the Sword, and the Sling.
L-shaped Hall
Hidden Room that contains the Arrow, and the magic Torch.
Twin Bridge Chasm
Wraith Room
4-Way Hub that connects to the L-shaped Hall, the Coffin Room, the Lake with the Skeleton in it, and the very cold room that's right before the Dragon's Den.
The aforementioned very cold room.

And that's it so far.
I have to actually play through the original NES version of Shadowgate as I go, because I don't remember everything. I have an infinite torches cheat so I can leave the game running while I go, so no worries there.

Now then, I do have a concern I'd like to share.
Basically, the Torches. Should I keep them?
To be honest, I'd like to get rid of them.
I'm also not sure if I can implement Shadowgate's torch system as of yet anyways.
Any feedback would be great.

I also don't know how they sound when actually downloaded from the site, or streamed through something like Media Player. If someone could tell me, that'd be great.

Hey. Yeah, I haven't been around much.
I've been out and about, and have been on ze comp less.

I needs to gets a jobs stills. Currently no luck due to damned seasonal crap, but I'll live.
Live. Speaking of that, I'm not sure of my current living condition anymore.

Seems that it's possible that we may be evicted.
If this happens, it's been made clear that I'll be on my own.
So I'm not entirely sure of what I'll be doing should that event pass.

Thus, Operation Job-GET! is in fuller swing than evar.
I guess one could say I'm in a stressful situation and all.
But I deal with it, so I''ll be fine. Mentally/emotionally that is.
Can't be sure about the physical if I end up homeless. XD

Please note that there's no suicidal undertone there, I'm just being logical.
If you thought there was one there, you don't know me well at all.

I plan to be dealing with that over this weekend, and tonight possibly.

So as most know by now, my graphics/video card (Which was a nVidia GeForce FX 5200) was fried.

This crippled my comp basically, in that a lot of things caused it to crash.
Such as most games, and most video.
Flash animations, and flash video worked fine. Some games were okay as well.

But for an example: Even STARCRAFT would not run without crashing the comp.
Yeah.
STARCRAFT.

You know something's wrong when your comp can't run that game.

Anyways, a friend of mine (Xenyadot. Also known as Mr. Christopher.) solved that little problem.
You see, he recently got a new graphics card for his comp.
As a result, he gave me his old one.

I have replaced my card with his now.
The result: No more crashing! YAY!

In case anyone was curious, it's an ATI Radeon 9200 PRO.

Oh yeah, I haven't been on my comp in days, so no progress on ESMs whatsoever.

So I managed to get some more recordings via Skype.
My internet is still being shit terrible, but from time to time it's acceptable.

Mainly because during said time to time, it's being jawesome.
Ah well, guess I has to deal with it for now.

I have around another hour or so of audio to go through.
Thus, ESMs are abound in the next whenever.
However, I did polish off one ESM moments ago out of recordings I got from Skirb.
ESM #40 is here. It's uploaded, added, and the player is updated to show that.

Oh yeah, btw, cake is Skirb and Kaze at this moment.
I currently hate them a little bit. Skirb moreso than Kaze, but not by much.
You'll find out why when you listen to the ESM.

First Impressions: Force Unleashed

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is an Action/Fighting game by varying developers, depending on the console or handheld it is for; LucasArts for the PS3, and 360 versions. Krome Studios for the PS2, PSP, and Wii versions. n-Space for the DS version. Universomo for the iPod Touch, iPhone, mobile phone, and N-Gage versions.

The game is set in between Episodes III & IV of the movies, and follows the exploits of Darth Vader's Secret Apprentice who's known only by his codename: Starkiller.

I will be doing a 1st Imp. Review of the Wii version. So here we go.

Story - 9/10
The story of the game is done quite well actually.
Things have taken a darker turn and we get to see more of Darth Vader's history.
Some of what happens has been predictable, but it didn't detract.
Any fan of the series would definitely enjoy the story of this game.

Gameplay - 8/10
The gameplay is the mainstay of the game.
You use both the Wiimote and the Nunchuk at the same time.
The Wiimote is used mainly for the lightsaber, while the nunchuk is used for the Force and for controlling Starkiller's movements. I feel that the controls really help to immerse you in the game.
Although, sometimes I think it's just trying to rope people in with a gimmick. But that's usually what innovation is looked at anyways. Moving on, I found that some of the motions aren't registered well. I find myself making Starkiller stab despite making slashing motions. I also haven't managed to make Starkiller do Force Choke even once in the game. I've tried, and at best I end up slamming the enemy I've Force Gripped into the ground. I'm not going to rule out that I just somehow suck really bad at it though. XD.

Graphics - 6/10
The game's graphics are, well, mediocre. For a Wii game that is. The quality is rather substandard which is a surprise. Textures aren't too bad. I think my main gripe is with the lighting at times. It's downright terrible. This is most notable in Felucia. Although, if you turn up the Brightness to two levels below the maximum amount, it makes things look much better. It's not a lot, but it helps.

Music - 8/10
The music is nicely placed. Many classic tracks from the movie series are heard here.
There's not much I can say about the music, there isn't anything new.
It's all tracks and themes we've heard before.
However, the selection is really good, so it fits at the right times.

Sound - 10/10
The SFX are perfect in the game. The lasers, explosions, everything.
Lightsaber noises, everything.
Machine sounds, wookiee noises, everything.
Did I mention everything? XD

Overall: 41/50. That's just over four stars!
Personal Opinion: This is a pretty good Star Wars game. One of the better ones I've seen. I suggest giving it a shot, especially if you're a Star Wars fan.

My internet connection has been shit terrible lately.
This is due to the network I usually jack being down.
I'm rotating between a couple alternates now.

First Impressions: World of Goo

World of Goo (WiiWare) is a puzzle game by indie game dev 2D Boy.
It's also a physics game in a way, that reminds me of LocoRoco in a way.
You interact with little creatures called Goo Balls.
They behave sort of like Lemmings, simple minded and almost always moving.

Story - 7/10
There isn't much of a story to be honest.
What is there is simplistic, but it's quirky and neat.
The only characters there are to my knowledge are the random people in some cutscenes and the totally awesome Sign Painter. He or she is full of win, and I have yet to see him or her. Only his or her signs. XD

Gameplay - 10/10
The gameplay is flawless. Controls are done with the Wiimote, and the Wiimote only.
The Wiimote is used in the same way as in the Wii Menu. Like a pointer.
It's basically a physics engine for you to play with. Use the goos to create towers and bridges and get them to the pipe at the end. I think that a certain someone should be damn good at this due to their experience with pipes. :P
Moving on, you have to get your goos across chasms, and around obstacles and hazards. The gameplay is everything in this game.

Graphics - 8/10
Now, graphics are always a subject of debate amongst gamers it seems. As for me, I don't care about them. I've enjoyed Pong. As long as I can tell what's going on, I'm fine. The quality of the graphics don't affect a game to me. Moving along, I like the graphics of this game. The art style is appealing and simplistic. The goos themselves look very nice as well. It's nothing eye-popping, but it's very pleasant.

Music - 7/10
The music is awesome. Some of the tracks are epic, and some fast paced.
It sets the atmosphere well, which is funny considering the goos.
It's almost like the game makes light of the music being epic sounding.
Still, it kind of personifies the goos a bit. Their struggle to get to the pipe. XD
Especially on the Blustery level. Damn nice choice of music on that one.

Sound - 7/10
I give Sound it's own category because SFX are seperate from the music to me.
Anyways, the sound effects are neat as well.
The goos make realisticish sounds, which is kinda disconcerting.
Also the sounds they make as you build are sort of funny, and make them more alive.
Only sound that doesn't fit IMO is the vacuum cleaner sound that happens when the pipe is on. It kind of makes sense, but I think some other sound should be used.

Overall: 39/50. That's almost four out of five stars!
Personal Opinion: This is the best WiiWare title to date so far, with Megaman 9, and Bomberman Blast just behind it. 3500 Brownie Points!

ESM 36 is over a half an hour long, but ESM 37 is barely over ten minutes.
So you see, it balances out in a way.

Also, ESM 35 is my most complexly made ESM. This is because I've been experimenting with layers. Layers makes timing much more precise. It also raises quality. Of course, you may not notice any difference.

So, I broke up with my girlfriend.
I'm not going to get into it now, so don't ask.
All you need to know (Assuming you care in the first place. XD), is that we're still friends.

However, if you notice I seem to act different (Maybe more distant, and talking less.) that is the most likely reason. I say most likely because maybe something else happened. Ye never know.

Moving along, I've polished off three more ESMs.
They're not uploaded yet. I'll probably be upping them later today. Not sure as of yet.
I still have another hour of recordings to go through, so expect more ESMs besides those three eventually.

Too Many Games

Seriously. I don't want to admit it, but I have been juggling too many games.
I suppose I'll just focus on a few at a time.
That should do it.

At least that's the hope.

The problem is that I sometimes get burned out on a game when I focus on it.
That leads to me not playing it for awhile. Like Brawl, for instance.
Got burned out on that, and now I don't play it except when at a friend's house.

And don't get me started on all the hacks out there.
WAY too many of those to juggle.
For example, the number of SMW hacks I've been playing are in the double digits!
Gah.

So I opened up Notepad and made myself a Game IDs page.
It's over in the links menu on the sidebar over there.

Basically, it's where I'll put gamecards (Or failing that, just text.) that display info about online games I play. Such as friend codes, usernames, etc. etc.

As an added bonus, I'll be making each card link to where you can find the template/cardmaker to make your own. Just click on the card itself to go. If I made the card without a template/cardmaker, then you're out of luck unless I also make a template/cardmaker.

Have another one level game. This time, it's HARDCORE.
But I still beat it. :P

Life 3 sure can be winly.

Moving along, my (read: The one I use.) comp is going in for a new hard-drive later today.
It's currently an 80GB, and it will be getting a 320GB addition.
The 320GB will be the primary, and have the OS on it. It'll then be partitioned into C:\ and D:\, 120GB for C, and 200GB for D. The 80GB will become drive E:\.
Later on the RAM is planned to be upgraded from its pitiful 256MB to something better.
So, woot.

No ESMs are currently in the making, due to the above reason. Sowwy. Wub? XD

So, I've been playing a bunch of games recently.
Okay just Echoes, and Wind Waker the most.
Games be jawesome. Wind Waker is a little annoying on the denying me freedom thing though.
I still don't see why Echoes is usually considered the black sheep of the series.

Away from games for a moment (ZOMG!), let's go to ESM status.
I'm currently out of recordings again, so I dunno when the next one will be.
It'll probably happen sometime this weekend. Stay tuned I guess.

Oh and I think something might be UP, but I can't quite say... XD

...I wasn't in school yesterday or the day before.
That sucks. I can only imagine the homework situation. >_<
Yesterday I wasn't in school because I was waiting for a guy to come and install the new thermostat, and remove the old one. My dad was at work and my sister "was missing too much school" so I got the shaft there. The day before yesterday I was waiting for the Electrical Inspector to come by. Same reasons as the yesterday's school abscence. I don't need this, I need to be at school for my Maths and smarts so I can go to more schoolses for mathses and smarts.

Gah...

Oh, and I still need to come up with something else for the site besides ESMs.
Maybe a webcomic or something, I dunno.

Famine Update: A little over 3 hours remains. I seem to be fine still. Did some mega-gaming last night. Brawl, Wiikart, and Bleach were all played. Others played Brawl on a seperate Wii, Guitar Hero II (or was it III? I forget.) on a PS2, and Halo 3 in the hallway. Also there were TVs all over the school, and people were hooking up other consoles or DVD players and watching movies or playing games. 'Twas awesome.

EDIT: Oh yeah, my internet came back yesterday morning apparently. I verified this when I got home last night and tried it. Coincidently, I removed my Wii from the house on that day to bring to the Famine/Games Club. Maybe my Wii WAS the culprit after all. Hrm.

30 Hour Famine

So, a few things have bothered and/or upset me in some way.
By upset, I mean I probably didn't like it.

EDIT: I didn't do ESM #17 again. Sorry. I've just been in a fuck everything mood lately. No this does not mean that I'm oh so ronery, so shaddup even BEFORE you start. :P

TMC is dead.
On the cold logical upside, I have regained a portion of time I would normally spend there.
I'd have liked to keep going there. I'll probably check in from time to time.
But I won't be doing a damn thing. I'm sick of the users not caring anymore.
So ah well, I'll deal with it.

Next order of business.
A few other places I go to have died or are seemingly dead.
So I've stopped hoping for change altogether in said places. I'm taking the TMC approach with them.

I'm losing some of the options I had when browsing the internet.
Guess I'll focus more on doing some projects I've been holding back on.

Let's move on.

Recently, as in the past few days, MSN has been a lousy rotten bitch to me.
I can sign on. And then talk for about five minutes or so. Then no one seems to be able to get messages from me. I plan on reinstalling MSN. So we'll see how that goes.

Now we get to today.

I went to the bank during my spare.
After a long tirade of ID presenting and talking and signing things to withdraw $30 from an account because I didn't have a bank card... I didn't get any money.
I was told that my Grandma was the only one with the signing rights.

I now have to bring in death certificates before I can do anything.

Also, Friday turns out to NOT be a P.A. Day like I was told. Yay.

I haven't gotten any recordings either. I should probably just make w/e the next time I get on Skype recorded. I don't like that sentence for some reason. *le sigh*
